The Wanted: Weapons of Fate official game guide is the perfect companion piece to the game, helping players squeeze every morsel of gameplay, narrative, and collectible out of the title. In a continuation of the story told in the blockbuster movie, Wesley Gibson faces an all new threat in a gripping adventure as he uncovers secrets from his past. The Fraternity Personnel Files chapter, starting on page 11, provide an entire roster of every character and enemy in the game, including the main bosses. In addition to providing a brief biography of each hostile, thorough takedown tactics are also detailed, helping players exploit each enemy's weakness.
The story kicks off in Chicago, only five hours after the events in the film, and the guide's walkthrough (beginning on page 20) details every step required to reach the end. But it's more than a step-by-step guide showing players where to go next. It's a complete manual illustrating how to eliminate every Fraternity thug in the game. Learn which enemies are easy to suppress, flank, then knife using the cover chaining mode. The walkthrough also points out the best times to fire curved bullets or perform enhanced quick movements to gain an upper hand in the toughest firefights. Detailed counter tactics for all the bosses are also included in the walkthrough, showing the player how to defeat each in record time.
During the campaign, there are several game rewards hidden like Easter eggs throughout the various levels. Each reward unlocks bonus content such as concept art, comic book covers, team pictures, and videos; a Game Rewards Gallery is found in the back of the guide, starting on page 117. The walkthrough reveals the location of every game reward, offering a picture of every single pick-up. Finding the game rewards is necessary to earn the Nerd Collector, Pest Exterminator, and Compulsive Hoarder achievements/trophies.
Simply completing the game or finding all the game rewards isn't enough to earn all the achievements and trophies. Some require unlocking characters. Others require the elimination of secret targets. In the guide's Trophies and Achievements section (starting on page 128) every trophy and achievement is reveled, along with an explanation of how to earn each.
